ATS Cranes Modernises Fleet with New Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1
Luxembourg — 14 July 2026 — Luxembourg-based crane operator ATS Cranes S.A. has put a new Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 mobile crane into service, replacing a decade-old LTM 1200-5.1 as part of a broader fleet modernisation programme.
The five-axle all-terrain crane delivers a maximum lifting capacity of 230 tonnes and features a 75-metre telescopic boom — among the longest in its class. It is equipped with Liebherr's VarioBase® system, which enables asymmetrical outrigger positioning for high lifting capacities even in confined spaces. The LICCON controller calculates permissible loads in real time, giving operators additional performance reserves particularly in the rear working area. A double-folding jib further extends the crane's flexibility across different job sites.
"We compared various manufacturers and once again opted for Liebherr based on the overall package of quality, price and service," said Managing Director Frédéric Kleinhans. "We were very satisfied with the previous model for many years — for us, the LTM 1230-5.1 is the logical next step."
The new crane also turns heads visually. To mark the company's upcoming 25th anniversary, ATS Cranes ordered the LTM 1230-5.1 in a custom paint scheme featuring the red, white and light blue colours of the Luxembourg national flag. Kleinhans noted that the livery has been extremely well received by customers and competitors alike.
ATS Cranes was founded in 2002 and has built a reputation for reliability across construction, industrial and assembly work. With 14 machines and 25 employees operating round the clock, the company's fleet consists predominantly of Liebherr equipment — making the LTM 1230-5.1 a natural addition to a proven formula.
