Liebherr Publishes First Group-Wide ESRS Sustainability Statement

ZURICH — Liebherr has published its first-ever corporate group-level sustainability statement for reporting year 2025, marking a milestone for the family-owned heavy equipment manufacturer. The document, released on June 30, 2026, follows the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) framework.

The statement encompasses more than 24,000 quantitative data points collected across all Liebherr subsidiaries worldwide, covering environmental impact, social responsibility, and corporate governance. For the first time, the company reports Scope 3 emissions — greenhouse gas emissions along its entire value chain — as well as waste-related data on a group-wide basis.

All data has been independently audited, a step that underscores the company's commitment to transparency. The report was published ahead of the statutory reporting obligation, reflecting a proactive approach to sustainability reporting.

Liebherr, which remains wholly owned by the Liebherr family, operates in a wide range of sectors including construction equipment, mining, mobile cranes, maritime cranes, aerospace and transportation systems, gear technology, and refrigeration. The group-wide sustainability statement brings together data from all these divisions for the first time.

The ESRS-compliant report covers the three pillars of ESG: environmental metrics such as CO₂ emissions and energy consumption, social indicators including workforce safety and diversity, and governance factors like supply chain oversight.

"With this statement, we demonstrate how a family-run industrial company can pursue a long-term sustainable strategy while meeting the growing expectations of regulators, customers, and society," the company stated in the release.

The full sustainability statement is available on Liebherr's website.
